    I think it'll work better if I were to use thicker strips much wider apart to better stabilize it while carrying. As it is, 6" or so inches is too close for such a long tube, and since PVC tends to weigh a bit, having a small handle near the middle just acts more as a fulcrum when holding it.

      I use my Plano adjustable fishing rod case. Already got padded ends, fully adjustable. Fairly inexpensive and well made. Much lighter than PVC.

          Thanks Stick-em, I'll need to see about a shotgun case- but I'm at least a year-two away from thinking about hunting with it. Got a cheap recurve, I'll post some pics up in a couple of days with my custom string and wood arrows.
