Wood arrows only? Are all the trad competitions wood only?
I have never attended so I have no idea.

No! Most all trad shoots have longbow open (carbon and aluminum arrows), longbow wood (wood arrows only), recurve open and recurve wood. Most also have a primitive class with wood arrow only and a seniors class which is any arrow.

up til this year, the Texas State Longbow Championship has been restricted to one piece longbows and wood arrows only. This year, we can now shoot 3pc longbows, but they kept the wood arrow only rule in place.

                Thanks for the detailed reply.
I need to come check that out.
Ive been shooting a LB for about 14 years and have yet to attend an event. Without a doubt I still have a good deal to learn but I don’t shoot to bad. 😂

You should come!!! This is one of the best shoots in the state. There’s a few folks who fight for the top spots, and then there’s the rest of us. It’s a blast no matter what your skill level is.

I'll second what Bisch said. The TSLC is one of the most enjoyable shoots we've been to. Last year was our first time, and it's now on the "don't miss" (pun intended lol) list. Great people, a wide variety of shots and angles, and a whole lot of fun.

                          May 25th & 26th.
Got it marked on the calendar.
Now I need to get the wood arrows figured out.

                          20ish yards with carbon
