Broadhead arrow for my grandson Spencer.
His little arrows are only 5/16" diameter, so quite a bit to small for the broadheads I have on hand.
This is a Zephyr Sirocco, that I cut down to be only 100 grains. It has an 11/32" x 5 degree tapered ferrule.
I cut a piece of broken 11/32 wood arrow shaft, and drilled a 5/16" x 5 degree tapper at center. Fit's on the little arrow shaft perfectly.
Then I tapered the big end to match the broadhead for another perfect fit.
I stained the wood adapter piece as close as I could to match the cock fletch, then sealed the whole thing with super glue.
I added some free hand art work for the cool factor for an 8 year old, but mainly I wanted to make sure he could identify the arrow when in a quiver with other.
I love playing with my lathe.
