    Well, I blew that one...

Been seeing hogs on a regular basis via my cell cam. Last 4 to 5 days even about the same time. So I go out this morning and sure enough, they come in about the same time.

I had shot a dozen or so warm up shot into a bag target that I left about 4 yards from the feeder. There was corn spread all over, but those hogs wouldn't come anywhere near it. Stood off in the brush and stared at it. You'd have thought Jimmy Dean himself was standing there with a butcher knife.

Had no idea they were that visually acute and would scare so easily by the change. Who knew? Likely a rookie mistake as I've not hunted hogs much to know such things.

    There's always tomorrow!

I hunted the dos equis with my kids a couple of time. You could corn the roads with a feeder. But piles of corn spooked the hogs.

Yep. Any change will spook em. Even your scent on the bag is a no no.

Yep...hog's nose (and surprisingly their close up eye sight) will put a hurtin' on ya.

I don't think it was scent. Light breeze was in my favor and that of the bag target. They just couldn't get used to it being there.

2-days later I stuck one. Same spot, same set-up except I didn't leave the target out. Never found the little sow, in all that thicket but she's dead. Didn't get a complete pass thru so she cost me an arrow and broadhead when she ran off it.

Pigs are notorious for that. The price we pay . . .
