Draw length increase, note to self.

Tinkering with archery and shooting a few in the heat this afternoon. It had been about 2 years since I checked my draw length. A few years ago when I started shootin a recurve, I remember my draw length being only around 27”, which should / was be short for me. Up until now, I believed my draw to be around 28” as i noticed my form getting better and so forth as I’ve progressed. Shooting my 50# 64” recurve today and decided to re check my draw length in the garage for my own awareness, turned out to be a tad over 29”, closer to 29 1/4 to 29 1/2 to my surprise.

im sure down the road, my draw may shorten with age unfortunately. Just something to think about, next time it comes to buying a dozen arrows or increasing in spine.

Not unusual. When I started mine was about 26.5". Form and better back tension has me at 27.5 now. Definitely check your bareshaft tuning.

That increase in DL is a sign that you have learned to use you back more properly than you did when you first started shooting!

      And it’s a good thing!!!!!!
