    Used Bob Lee recurve pricing

I’m retired in Montana. I met an ‘older’ fellow who had rotator cuff problems and can’t shoot a bow any longer. He said he has several string bows he’d sell, one he describes as “excellent Bob Lee Hunter takedown bow with bow quiver and aluminum arrows. It is 48# at 28 “ draw and has had very little use.”. I’m going to his house next week to look at it. I don’t know the model yet.

What’s a fair price range for the bow, quiver and aroiws?

Are you a member of Archery Talk? Their bow classifieds for traditional is a good place to judge current market values. Just think 15% less.

There is a facebook group "Bob Lee Bows Fan Club". Lots of Bob Lee's sold on that group. The Hunter is an older model, but still a nice bow that should be an easy sell.

Thanks for the heads up on the FB group. I'll check it out.

Also thanks for the ArcheryTalk suggestion. Until I determine the model, it's hard to figure a fair price. He said he paid $500 in 2013, but he has the quiver and arrows. Plus- he's selling a bunch of other trad equipment, a Bitzenberger fletching jig, etc. etc. I hate to see somebody get out of archery, but he's over 80 and can't shoot.

Makes me want to go shoot my bows more- old age sucks.

"Hunter" is the model. Most I've seen are rather "plain jane" compared to current offerings with exotic wood, but still very nice bows! He should be albe to get $600 or better if it isn't marked up and scratched. If a Bob Lee quiver in decent shape it's worth $75. Arrows about $3 each if they are in good shape.

Thanks, not much about the Hunter model searching Google. I'll find out Monday what it is.

                      I’m the buyer not seller.
Is that a ‘standard’ BL Hunter or an upgraded model? It looks like a camo finish.
                      Thanks again.

Sorry. I got the idea you were trying to sell it for the other guy/owner. I'm dense that way.

The camo'd bow is for sale on a Facebook groupl called "Bob Lee Bows Fan Club". Don't know if it is a Hunter or not. Lots of Bob Lee's offered for sale on that FB group. In any case, the bow you are looking at is, in opinon, a fair price of $600 with quiver as a $50 to $75 adder, but the arrows may not be of any use to you so they are not valued much. Consider that if you don't have to pay shipping or taxes that's worth $50 to $70.

So- if I want it a price of $500 with arrows and quiver is fair? I don’t know what he’s going to ask when we meet. I just want to be prepared. The question is other than to satisfy addictive behavior and get another string bow do I need it?

I think $4-500 for that bow. It is an older bow that probably only cost around $500 new.

Thanks, I'll update when I find out what he wants for it.

We met talking about local Montana history and he saw my archery t shirt and the conversation got around to archery and bows.
