String recommendation for selfbow

Anyone have a brand and type recommendation for a string for a selfbow? Also, how long of a string do I need, if my bow is 64 inches from nock to nock?

I don't know what kind of tips yet. I haven't got that far. I have just finished working out my handle, and haven't decided what kind of tips yet. I'm open to recommendations, as this is my first build.

If you put any wood, micarta or horn on the limb tips you could get away with a D97 string for far better performance.

B50 on my bows. If you have a stringjig just put the pin in the 64'' hole. If you don't have jig, most of my strings are 4 to 5 inches from string loop to string noch when unstrung. You can also tie timber hitch on one end.Best answer I type.

Thanks for all of the responses. Not sure if I want to add the bone or wood to the tips on this bow, but definitely will save that for a future project. I like your answer selfbowman. I think I'm gonna start with the B50 and go from there. Guess I need to get my butt in gear and post pictures, so ya'll can tell me what I'm doing wrong or right.
