    It all depends on who you talk to. Some say the backed bows are and some say they are not. Some say burlap and sinew and snake skin is OK but bamboo and other wood backings are not. It really does not matter what others think. Just decide what will work with you and go on eith it!

      Bamboo backed will probably be considered a composite. Burlap will pass as primitive. That is just my opinion. It seems to depend on who you ask and where you ask.
