      Texas Trip 2013

      Hello Texas,

We just made it back home from Texas a couple of days ago.

      Just like last time ....
All I can say is :
My body is home .... but my soul is still roaming round that beautiful rugged brush country ...

A fantastic trip with successful bowhunting, meeting up with some fellow TBHers at Bob´s place, seeing Chris again, hanging out with Bisch and finally getting the chance to meet Steve aka "Texas 50" and have some pickin´n grinnin´going ooooooohhh yeah !!!

To be honest here, I don´t know where to start or what to tell first.

So here´s a couple of pics to start with.

      Back in Texas

Chris, Fred and myself at the ranch

Chris, it was good to see you again and do some hunting after a long time.
Thanks again brother for friendship and a whole lot more.

Bisch, Fred, Steve and I at Bob´s.

Bob, thanks for having us at your place and special thanks for filling me up with coffee as promised

I also want to thank everyone who came by. We felt honored.
That day just flew by way too quickly.

We could have needed one or two more days to hang out together though.

Ben, thanks again for the knife. I forgot it at Bisch´s place. Needed a reason to show up at Bisch´s again

On our first trip Fred and I had to learn that everything is big in Texas .... but once again we were impressed over the hospitality, which was indicated to us.

      Thank you Texas !!!

      more to come ...

      happy trails
      Daniel

my favorite part about this trip

I was happy that my buddy Fred joined me on this trip and I was hoping that this time he might get the chance to harvest his first deer ever.

I really wished it so hard to him, because the first time he has been to Texas he went trough some rough times

Who had a close encounter with jumping cactus ? - Fred
Who got lost at Amistad ? - Fred
Who got arrested because of language problems ? - Fred
Who almost stepped on a rattler ? - Fred
Who drew back an arrow on a nice buck but could not release ? - Fred
Who broke his shoulder on the way home ? - Fred

Since then we have a new proverb at home: FREDS LAW !!!!!

Because if things go wrong - they go wrong with Fred

I thought that man was done with Texas .... but here we go again!!!

My favorite pic about this trip.

"Happy Fred" got his first deer ever …. a nice 8 point

Does he look like a happy camper ???

        I´m proud about you Fred,
and congratulations again on your first deer.

I will be back with some more details about that hunt later on ....

        happy trails
        Daniel
