The following is on a bob lee 60" 60# and I draw around 28.5"
I was using 18 strands of 452x and padding the loops with 6 b-55. That was shooting good with a 30" 400 with 50 grain insert and 200 grain head. Really good.
I built a string with 18 strands of 452x and did not pad the loops. Arrow speed went from 173-175 to 185-188fps and when I overdrew (29") it was 190. with a 640 grain arrow. Only with the new string I have to shoot at 30" 340 with 75grain insert and 150grain head.
I did not realize that much/little of difference would arise from the padding difference.
Has anyone else had similar issues? I like the speed gains but its hard for me to an arrow/foc combination that I like with the heads I would like to shoot. I would like to be able to shoot a 200 or 250 grain heads. Should I go back to my padded loops or try to tune a 300 spine arrow?
I really like the extra speed, because I was wanting to shoot some 2" 2 blades and I know that would help push the big heads through critters.
