Not staring at A feeder for once...

I'm not at my lease this weekend but at at place owned by two friends. I'm sitting in a pop up by a heavily wooded stretch of battle creek in shacklefprd county. Nice to hunt over trails for a change instead of staring at a barrel. I'll keep updating till I shoot something or it gets dark..

Different style of hunting for sure. That's what I came from, sitting the edge of fields and along trails. It is fun.

That's the only way I've gotten a shot at a deer this year, 'cept I didn't have a popup, just a large downed cedar tree and some clippings from other cedars. Worked REALLY well with no "black hole" to spook the deer. She saw me, stared right at me 4-5 times for a good little while, but never could figure me out and went back to eating my hand corn. Then she died.

You'll like that trail hunting. Watch the deer carefully before you take the shot. You can get an idea of when to shoot so she will be in the same position when your arrow gets there.

One of the major things I love about hunting the Mid-West is the fact that you never stare at a feeder or feed pen.... Well, that and the huge deer

Hope you are out tracking something
