I want to start shooting some 3D and I have an arrow question - do you use the same arrow set-up that you hunt with? I have some light arrows that fly great out of my bow but aren't suitable for hunting. I'm thinking the lighter and faster arrow would be an advantage shooting targets at unkown distances. However I'm wondering if the change in trajectory will mess me up when I go back to the heavier hunting arrows. Your thoughts?

Do you use your hunting arrows for 3D shoots?

Yes.
I just switch out the points for the task at hand.
I would much rather be in sync with my hunting arrows,
and honestly never found an advantage to doing different.

I shoot my bows because I love to hunt. That being said, I also shoot a ton of 3D. To me it has always been a case of I do not want to change anything and my 3D is just another fun way to practice for hunting. Yes, I shoot the same arrows for 3D that I hunt with. It shows at times too (esp for the longer shots that I do not practice a lot for) but that is Ok with me. When I go to a shoot and am drilling all my shots inside of 20yds (i.e. - hunting range) I'm happy even if my score is brought down by some bad shots or misses on the long shots.
I shoot nearly every day. I practice A LOT at 10yds to 15yds, quite a bit at 20yds, and just a litle at 30yds. I never practice anything farther than 30yds and it sometimes shows. It really does not matter to me because I am not going to shoot any animals past 30yds.

I shoot the same set up hunting and 3-D. My huunting set up I use 4 orange feathers and for 3-D I dress them up a little more using splices and diffarant color combantions. So if you shot the same practicing at 3-D as you do hunting there is alot less thinking when that shot in the woods shows up and a lot more recovery.
