Longbow getting a little scuffed up from hunting

Anything that I should be doin to protect it? Got a lot of surface scrathes even though I am tryin to be careful..... I have always been a little like a bull in a china closet ( hard on equipment!!!!!)

The scratches really dont bother me that much.... Should they? Do they cause any problems other than a little character?

After season you can lightly buff most out. It adds character.

Billy, you aught to see my hunting bows! My bows were made to take into the woods. That is why i will never order another fancied up, pretty bow. I don't want to have to worry about it when i get a little scratch on it.

Just keep hunting and after the season it can be re-finished.

Billy, rub some paste wax into it when you know you won't be hunting for a few days.

I was talking to Rob Lee of Bob Lee bows about this one day. After looking at one of their beautiful Natural series takedown LB's i commented that it was too pretty to take into the woods. He quickly replied, that's why we refinish bows. I figure after next season the Bob Lee Pro I have is going in for a refinish.

i would rather have scratches on my bow than dust.

After season, lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper and apply a light coat of Deft Polyurethane. After about 24 hours in a dry area, sand again very lightly and refinish again. Do this about 4 coats and she is ready for another year.

I betcha a cup of coffee that Bob would tell ya to scratch, use and abuse his bows, they feel loved that way. At least mine does, she aint no bow rack princess, she hunts!
