If you want to hear the sound of silence, shoot one of Arvin's Selfbows

Could you post a picture, I've never seen string material used? Thanks...

Yeah, I know...I get tickled with minor triumphs.
Not a problem! Yea, you have to tie them in a little cause when you unstring your bow they tend to fall out. It made the absolute world of difference in my longbow, as it was loud enough I really didn't want to hunt with it. I shoot it much better than my recurve but was afraid of the string noise. It is my quietest now and I have them in my recurve and my little short longbow. Glad I had some good info for someone!

I put Bow Hush and Hush Puppy on my recurve strings and can't believe how quiet my shots are after installing them. I'm not affiliated with them at all but I'll sure recommend them after trying them out.

I bought 100% wool yarn at hobby lobby and my sister had a 40% off coupon. Lifetime supply of wool puffs for under $3. I put them around 10" on my widow pch. Works like a champ. Made my bow even quieter with my 8 strand SBD string and yarn wraps. Plus I'm shooting a 11.2 gpp arrow. Love it.

Derrick, I just put to use those hairy beaver silencers you gave me a year ago, I ended up having to just cut 1 in half they were so thick. Best beaver I have ever seen but man they were hairy. My bow has a mouse fart by at least a decibel or two..

Getting into this thread late but I have heavy arrows and nutria rat fur in my strings. Nutria skin is thinner than beaver.

Beaver balls, along with a heavy arrow makes my longbow quiet.

Only thing I use are rubber whiskers. They do a great job and you can also do a lil customizing if ya want. .Trent.
