I'm hunting a place that has several horses on it.
Anyone who has hunted where there are cattle knows what a pain it can be,
but I'm here to tell you - Horses are worse than anything.
I put in a ground blind, and it only lasted two days before the horses demolished it.
Well I had that blind (an eastman L85), and an old doublebull blind that the cows on
another place had demolished some years earlier. I took the two blinds, and made one
functional blind out of them by mix matching the rods & hubs, and putting the two canvases
together.
I'm nothing if not creative LOL. I also have a 12' tripod.
I built a platform on the tripod that I could attach the blind to.
Mounted the platform onto the tripod platform, and attached the blind.
Viola - No more horse problems.
Here is the set up in place, and ready to be hunted from.
It isn't hid well from the feeder side, but it'll work, and it is hid very well
from all of the approaching trails. By the time the animals get where they can see it
they'll already be in dire straights.
Gonna wait a few days for things to settle down, and then I hope to get some
good hunting video footage from this spot. Pigs mainly, but maybe some deer
will happen in.
