First Trad hunt and I missed

Had the deer do everything right this morning and I shot right over his back. I was thinking aim low but I guess I did not think low enough. All the deer came back so I will try again tomorrow. Fun hunt though!!

Well congrats on being out there and having the shot opportunity!!! Hang in there, it will all come together!

I had two does come in, they did not offer a shot, then four bucks showed up a nice ten, a eight point and two bucks with only one horn each. I had a easy shot on one of the one horn bucks but was waiting on the ten to turn broadside, one of the bucks didnt like something and they left. Hope they will be back tonight, and tonight I will take the first legal deer that offers a good shot. It was a great morning.

A clean miss is not a tragedy. Think of it as hunt and release. Get them next time. This is suppose to be difficult

I tell everyone that will listen, the first deer I shot at with trad. Bow was the most fun I ever had missing. My next shot, a year later, was the biggest buck I have ever killed.

I missed twice with my self bow and twice with my recurve before I killed my first animal with trad equipment.I've been doing well since then.Its just something about getting that first one!

Nothing wrong with a clean miss, chalk it up as a lesson learned and keep on going. I want one of two shots. A clean kill, or a clean miss.

I also missed high on the first two shots I ever took at deer with a recurve. Third time was a charm for me and I've killed (and missed) plenty since then.

I shot at and missed the same deer with my longbow three times in the same eavning hunt! Maybe this year......

It probably won't be your last miss! Like stated above, a clean miss is better than a bad hit any day! Good luck next time.

They came back this morning but the legal buck never gave me a shot I was willing to take. I will be practicing even more. I might try again wednesday. Good luck to all!
