It really does not matter which one you get first, you are going to go back and get the other one just as soon as you can. Go over to Bob's, shoot all of them and get the one that fits you best.

either/or doesn't really matter, if you get the bug bad enough you'll end up with 2 or 3 of each... wanna buy a bow? I've got 2 or 3 of each.
Seriously though try several before you buy then decide. Go to Bob's and try a bunch, then go to Horne's and try several more. Mark is not far from you.

I'm a recurve guy. I've tried a couple longbows but a recurve just fits me more comfortably. Try both!

Like mentioned above go shoot as many as possible, one will stand out and catch your attention, I got a new Sarrels Sierra longbow a month or so back and now Im wanting to go back after the recurve. His puma is a very easy shooting bow, the riser design makes it hard to torque and it is one dead bow

Shoot both and then decide which feels better to you. Don't rely on anyone else's opinion of which is best.

Well it's all been said already, shoot all of them you can, you will know instantly which one it will be when you pick it up and shoot an arrow.

I started with a recurve, then switched to a longbow, then back to a recurve, and finally I'm 100% comfortable with a longbow.

I like a longbow with some definite reflex/deflex....and longbows are oh so quiet.

I own both longbows and recurves. I love both. They have different properties and characteristics. I love the way they feel in their own way. The best thing to do is, like everyone above said above, try a bunch of different bows and the best one for you will be the one that feels the best in your hand.

                          Good luck and shoot well.

Do this unless you need an excuse to have several.
