    Dryad Bows

Can anyone tell me what is different about Dryad bows? They look real nice and everything I read about them says they are smooth and fast. I have narrowed my choices down to either a Bob Lee T/D longbow or a Horne Combo hunter. But, the dryads look great. What would the difference be between a Dryad and a Bob lee?

    Thanks

No glass on a dryad. I wanna buy a blank from them.

They are not that fast, but some are very nice looking. I have talked to him a couple times on a different forum and he can be nice or sometimes kind of snubby.

Dryad bows are basicly a laminated bow without fiberglass. Personaly I'd go with the Horne IMO.

no, I sure have not. I guess the bob lee and horn are appealing to me because I can get a t/d at a pretty good price. Sarrels uses the bow bolt, and it would cost about $700 for a superstition with the bow bolt. I guess I could email and see if he would retrofit it in the future.

Go with a Sarrels for a longbow. Top quality and nice shooting bows.

Bob Lee makes a dandy TD recurve.

I have had both Bob Lee T/D recurve and longbow, but the Sarrels just feels the best. I am not trying to knock The Bob Lee bows by no means. They are great bows. I sold both Lee after I shot my first Sarrels and love them I bought a T/D this summer and love it. The bow bolt make it easy to take down/up. Bob has a new "S" curve and I am looking at it hard. It is a fine looking bow.

I don't know anything about his recurves. I do know that Bob seems to be a stand up guy. I enjoy visiting with him when I have the chance.

I shot one of the spec recuves of Bobs at Archery Country the other day. The bow is fast and shot very straight on for me. It has a slim handle which I liked alot. I shoot three under and have a 29-30 draw and I did have a little finger pinch.

FWIW, I asked Bob if he would retrofit a bow-bolt in my Teton and he said no. The reason being that the labor involved to build a jig just for that bow so once he cut it in half, it would line back up is just too cost prohibitive. If you have a minute, give him a call, he is very cooperative and will discuss anything you would like to talk about relating to traditional archery.

I own a Dryad Hunter,it is yew with bamboo backing.I think it the best shooting selfbow I have ever shot(I know I will catch heck for that statement) I would also say it is quick, mine is 48lbs @28'' it will shoot a 550gr arrow mid 150's. With that being said I would not buy another from him,but would buy a LB from Bob Sarrels.IMO Bob builds the easiest shooting LB I have ever shot, and he has the longest warranty from any custom bow builder I have bought from. There are other bowyers out there, you just have to find which one fits you.
