    My first attempt...

...at mating a lighted nock for carbon and aluminum arrows to my cedar arrows. It is working and holding up great so far. I put a few dozen shots through it today with no problems.

    Hey, that's pretty cool.

How did you go about doing it?

I have been thinking on it for a while. I was trying to reinvent the lighted nock for use with wood until I found the nockturnal brand lights. They are exactly what I was looking for. I drilled this one with my hand drill and it is straight, but I am going to build a jig before I drill out any more arrows.

But mine are self nocks. Darn self nocks!

Way to go, I think you're on to something here.

So you did it like an internal footing?

I had been planning on doing it that way using a thill light, but didn't get around to it yet.

That's right. I bought some thills a while back to try this but I never had the time or ingenuity to complete it. Imo, these nockturnals seem to be the way to go so far.

Eric, I've been building them with the thill lights for carbons for a while, and they have been working great.

Should be pretty easy to rig them up for woodies, but I won't know that till I give it a go.
