Looking forward to the shoot, and to see everyone again. This will be our first time to attend the shoot and we were wondering if you can take campers and such? Also what kinda distances will we be shooting?
You can take your camper, John, but there are no hook ups. Kinda like Vanderpool. Can't help you with distances much, but some of them are out there. It is a very good shoot. Take tick and chigger repellent.
John I take my popup camper and a generator. If you want an RV park there is one about 10-15 minutes away but I don't know the name of it. Shot distance will range from a few yds to 50yds or more (depending on how they set the buffalo) but the average is certainly reasonable.
Good luck to everyone , yall have fun I cant make it I have to go on a 10 day bear hunt in Idaho when the shoot is , dang the luck,,,,,,,,Sam,,,,,,,,,,
...forecast is saying it will more than likely rain...go figure.
Memorial Day weekend....TSLC...rain........., who'd a thunk it
Even if I wanted to go, which I kinda did, my oldest son's HS graduation is that Saturday......morning.
jreyna920, distances will be between about 8 feet to 50 yards or so.
Some will be almost straight down the creek bank, some will be almost straight up the creek bank.
Several are across the creek, waterproof boots are nice to have. Or hope someone in your group has some.
Most shots are in the woods, some are through the woods, and a few are in the wiiiiide open field. You'll have to kneel on a couple, and lean on a couple more. If the Elk in the woods is in the same spot, you will be standing in a hole.
There is drinking water on the course, but take a water bottle anyway. And a couple of munchy snacks (that won't melt, it will be hot/humid), it used to take 4-5 hours to get around the course.
Great course, best shoot in the state. Ya'll have fun
