    PM Ol Man on TBH and he will get you what you need. He is a great string maker and will explain it all to you.

        Bisch already nailed it. However, the info you need should be on the bow on the lower limb, just below the grip. This is the most common area boyers use. The length will appear by itself or with the lettere AMO ( example 62" AMO) and the weight/draw length will be together as 50#@28". On factory bows the draw length will always be measured to 28"s, customs will vary as they may be built to a persons personal draw length. Hope this helps. Welcome to the fun side!

          Haven't heard from, or seen Doug (Ol Man) post here in a while.

          Anyone know what's up with him?

          Yes, he is the go to feller for a string.

            He was in a motorcycle accident here awhile back, but I thought he was well on his way to recovery. I do miss his posts.

                    I contacted him a few days ago, he said he'll make me a string for my longbow.

                      by the looks of it AMO should be around 60" , 62" . Just make sure your brace heigth is 7 1/2 " - 8" when your string on.

                        measure from the side that faces you tip to tip than subtract 3" or 4" you will get pretty close .

                          Some of those older bows have the information written on the side of the riser and not the belly;

                              I am still around - just way too busy!!! Work is getting in the way I guess!

                              Phillip - another thing you can do is take a piece of string and tie one end to the top nock and just lay the string over the bow.. this will get you very close in AMO length. Most of the time it isn't important to take the 4" off the actual as every string maker knows if it is AMO length then it needs to be taken off for proper brace height anyway. I was in the Big D helping the Step Daughter move so I didn't get to a computer over the weekend.
