Denton County Longbow Warm-up Date Change (to Sunday 5/22)

The date for the Denton County (DCA) Longbow Warm-up has been changed from Saturday 5/21 to Sunday 5/22.. The date was changed in order to enable the Sherwood Forest (TSLA) folks (who will all be setting up for the State Longbow Championship on Saturday) to participate in the warm-up for it on Sunday (the week prior).

How bout dem apples Jeffro and Lewis? Now you can work all day Saturday and shoot all day Sunday.

This is a non-TBoT shoot. Scoring is the same as for the State Longbow (5/2/0) and there will be 20 targets (two stakes each for 40 shots total). A lot of the targets will be smaller in size (also similar in set-up to the State Longbow).

Unlike the State Longbow, there will also be Recurve categories competing among themselves and recurve shooters are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Gate open at 8:00; cards in by 3:00. $10 for members; $15 for non-members

The date change should be up shortly on the DCA web site. Check here for directions.

This is an annual shoot that has always been well received and attended as a warm-up and prelude to the Texas State Longbow Championship the following Memorial Day weekend.

You and me both Jeffro. Thank Joe Wallis though. He's the one that brought the date conflict to my attention at Cinnamon Creek last weekend and asked if I could get it changed.

I understand the reasoning and agree that the Sherwood folks need to have the opportunity, but those of us "church" people will have to pass. Wish it could be both days so we all could shoot. Love to shoot Denton - both for the people and the course.

Thanks for the consideration. Won't get out until 12:15 or so, with a 1.25 hour drive, and the time to shoot the course, it just won't work. I appreciate the thought though.
