Need a String, Arrows for 21st Century Edge

I need a new string for my 21st Century Edge longbow, and need suggestions on what type, how many strands and where to order, or purchase locally. The bow is 68" axle to axle.

While I'm at it, I'll probably get some arrows specifically for the longbow instead of shooting my Epsilons, so I could use some advice there, too.

BTW, I'd like to get the string before Wednesday evening.

The arrows need to be tuned to you and your bow. If you have someone up there that could help you that would be best. What we do is figure out what point we want to shoot then figure out the right size arrow and then put a point in it and shoot it at about 10 yards. Then we cut it until it flys right. The string shouldnt be to hard to get if you have someone who knows how to make them. Flemish dont take long to make. If you cant find anyone around there e mail me and I can get one made for you for about $12.

Michael, don't know about getting a local string. I would assume it would be of the fast flight variety. Arrow wise, my recommendation would be Arrow Dynamics Traditionals, they're advertised to be about 10grains per inch. I'm shooting AD Trads, 29" with a 100gr. steel insert and 125gr. woodsmans and Zwickey deltas. They shoot great out of my 63# recurve as well as my 55# LB. Lots of good stuff on Tradgang.com about both strings and arrow types.

Michael, what are the stats on the bow, the draw length and the poundage? Most all string makers for traditional bows make the strings after your order.
I wish I could help you more, but my long bow and recurve are 62" bows with 28" draw length and 46# on the recurve and 50# on the longbow, so a string for a 68" bow means I can't help you.
Also getting a string and you getting your arrows shooting good is not impossible but it is going to be difficult.
I would make sure you can get your total arrow weight around 490 to 540g. at full length, and start cutting the length till you get some consistency.
My recommendation get a half doz, of each goldtips 3355 and 5575, your going to need extra weight in the tip so get some 50g and 100g tips for your broadheads. Good luck!

I actually had some aluminums specifically for the bow, but my Epsilons actually shot better out of it.

The men's group at our church is shooting some targets on Wednesday evening, so I wanted to get something to shoot before then. I may be able to reserve the existing string if I can't find anywhere else to get one made by then.

          Thanks for the help.

Whats the poundage on the bow. Ill send you a dacron (thats all I use) shoot it in and keep it for a spare. send me your address. choose two colors from black, green, gray, red, yellow and black, green, or camo for serving. its my way to say thanks for all you do and the fun its been to visit the "green screen" but it will be into next week before you will have it.

              Michael,
I, too, can make you a string. Like Restless, I need to know the length of the bow and the poundage at your draw length. I have red, white, and blue in dacron, or red, green, and black in fast flight, or a tan/black mix in Dynaflite. If you don't want dacron (it stretches more, but is much quieter for hunting), I would recommend the Dynaflite. Let me know if I can help. Don't know where you live, but if it ain't around Austin we'll have to use the TBH Express or the postal service. E-mail me at smshedd@hotmail.com or you can call me at 512-496-5424. I wouldn't charge you anything either, but if the bow is longer than 63" (my longest bow) I may have trouble getting a serving on it. I built a jig to serve bows longer than that, but it still needs some work.

Thanks for the offer, guys. I'm going to check with the local archery shop tomorrow (they were closed today) and see if they can hook me up.

                My bow is 55# @ 29", and 68" long.

Thanks again for the help. I'll let you know if the local shop can't come through.
