    Removin Adhesive

Well got some new arrow felt for my rest and a new side plate and when removing them there is a bunch of adhesive on the shelf and wall, any suggestions on how to remove to get a nice smooth surface..to reapply a new one..

I've always been partial to Goo Gone.

Goo Gone is probably the easiest and isn't damaging to the finish underneath. Watch with acetone it can damage certain finishes ... Past experience and luckily I could repair the damage(Slight disolving of the finish ... some Birchwood Casey Gun Stock finish took care of the blemish).

            WD-40 will work every time

There have already been several suggestions that sound good, but let me add a couple more.

Week thinner, like naptha (lighter fluid) and isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) will ususally dissolve adhesive without damaging the finish. It takes a little more elbow grease than using a strong thinner (like acetone), but acetone will definitely damage (and remove) the finish.

That may not be a concern underneath your arrow rest and sideplate felt.

Thanks all feel kind of dumb now but I have been there before. I would rather be dumb and ask a question than ruin a good bow cause of a not so smart mistake. Thanks all, not bashing anyone either really... I was gonna use the misses nail polish remover but was unsure... THanks again...

My apologies for suggesting acetone, have used it sparingly to do this but will not anymore! Thanks for the other suggestions, but Wd-40? I've heard it would take rust off a chrome bumper!lol

I used Windex (the window cleaner stuff) and paper towels to remove the glued-on price tag/bar code labels Bass Pro stupidly applied to the top and bottom limbs. Didn't even think of WD-40 at the time.

Goo gone will work and is easy to find, but IMO Orange peel adhesive remover is by far the best thing in the world for removing any thing sticky and wont damage the finish. I have taken enough stickers off copcars and fire trucks to have used all the tricks and that works buy far the best. Regardless of what you use wipe it down with windex after to stop the cemical reaction. If you want some let me know and I will ship it to you.
