    Pse coyote

Any one out there has a PSE Coyote, im a compound bowhunter but want to try out a recurve, I was thinking that a coyote would be a good one to start with, any input on it or any other bow to start with would be of great help

As long as it is not to heavy.

Have you looked at a PSE Blackhawk recurve? It's price of $230 is not too bad for a wooden one piece 60" starter bow. It lines reminds me of a Damon Howatt recurve. It's also the same length as the metal handled Coyote while being $40 cheaper too.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS... Thanks to PSE’s newly-designed riser geometry, the Shootdown Pro deftly exceeds the high performance, repeatability, and holding standards that target shooters need to compete at a high level, while also delivering the speed and comfort bowhunters need to get the job done on the hunt. SEE THE SHOOTDOWN PRO

If you don't like the white limbs, there are some old discontinued one piece 60", Martin X-200 recurve bows still for sale brand new out of the box and they look just like the Blackhawk, but with black limbs. 3 Rivers Archery sells them, but the price is much higher than the Blackhaw at $460.

Samick Sage is also a great choice for a starter bow... @ $119.00 the price is right as well!

I have a Coyote with two set of limbs I worked with it for a while putting a light rig on it for night hunting. It is an OK bow. Almost all of them I have seen have had some limb twist issues but it does not really affect the way they shoot. They have decent speed. Problem I have with them is they are designed to shoot from a rest not off the shelf. I tried building up the shelf but it still shoots best on rest, tillering I guess. First thing I would do if you get a Coyote is contact Ole Man for a flemish string throw away the loop string.
As for a starter bow I the Coyote would work if you wanted to shoot from rest but it is tough to do if you go split fingure and instinctive, gap shooting might be easier. I think some of the bows Night Wing mentions are shot from the shelf. Mostly just preference there people do it both ways. 3Rivers also have the Samik bows some of them are pretty good bows at good prices.

I would Avoid the PSE every one I have seen or held was sub par at best. The Samik is a way better choice

The PSE Coyote looks llike an attractive bow, it is kinda of heavy and the grip is not that comfortable. I would go with a used bow in the classifieds here or maybe you could get a new bow from Martin or bear.

The PSE's maybe fine, but I purchased pse wheelie bow back in the early 90's, and the wheels (alluminum) were so rough they would tear up a string in 100 shots. That's why I would never again purchase a pse product.

Once you get addicted you can get you a Bob Lee or Blackwidow which are leages above samicks or PSE's. Also don't let anyone tell you that an arrow shot from a recurve or longbow can't punch bullet holes in paper with alittle tuning and help from guys who know they can and will shoot an arrow just like it came off a fallaway rest.

i have shot a coyote, and personally i didnt like it, i thought the grip didnt fit right in my hand, the draw was fairly smooth w/ little limb stacking, after the shot the was noticable hand shock and w/o silencers it wasnt all that quiet. for the price you could get a samick sage. although i have not personally shot the Sage, everything i have heard about them is great.
