Are you reaching your anchor or are you short drawing?

      Cole,

Remember on Sunday...... come to full draw and follow through! This will correct some of your problems! Are you shooting so much you are getting tired again? That causes erratic arrow flight as well!

Dont grip your bow firmly. if you grip tight you can actually "twist" the bow. causing the side to side effect...

Shoot with a very relaxed shooting hand. doesnt have to be open, but just relax when you take the shot... just remember to do the same thing when hunting. RELAX/Breath/Squeez the trigger... I tell myself that every time I shoot.

Happens to me all the time! One day I'll shoot great, the next day the arrows are all over the place.

When you say they fly side to side, do you mean they're fishtailing while in flight? I'm no expert, as I'm a rank beginner, but from what I've read, if they're fishtailing while in flight, then maybe it could be a problem with shooting improperly spined arrows?

His arrows are spined very well but, Cole has a habit of short drawing when he gets tired! He also does not pull through his shot - when he does he hits right on every time! I spent several hours with him on Sunday and know that he keeps on shooting even if he is dead tired! He sure is dedicated though! A very good shot I might add as well!

Ah, gotcha. I have the same bad habits of short drawing and continuing to shoot when I'm tired, too. Need to work on that, so thanks for the reminder!

Thanks everyone. I figured out what was wrong. It was because my nock had slipped down on the string. Hey mr. doug do you think That With my way of shooting Ill ever be able to shoot arial discs or is my style to slow? Oh by the way i think I fixed the problem of short drawing because I wait till I feel my finger in my mouth before I let go. By the way Im down too two arrows because you made me get so much better! Ive only been shooting a stick for about 5 years- Ill give you my best advice. Dont force your shots nd just enjoy shooting in a relaxed fashion. Go back to shooting at 7 - 10 yards and dont shoot too much. I learned from pushing too hard.

                        Cole,

Shooting aerials is not all that hard.. when you get the hang of it it becomes very easy actually. Next time we get together maybe we can shoot some running shots - helps you get prepared for aerials. Glad you remembered to get that finger in to the corner of your mouth.
