I keep having to twist my string back up. Then a week later its stretched again. Any tips?

You just have to put up with it. It will stop after awhile.

if you dont have one of olmans strings you need to get one.. flemish twist the one that came with my bow was a continuous loop and i could shoot it put it down and come back a couple of hours later and would have to twist the string again once you get one of olmans strings you may have twist for maybe the first week or two but after that it should be pretty stable.

Yep, get Doug to build you a string.

P.S. - Another thing to think about - If the string is very old it could be breaking, strand by strand, under the serving or in one of the loops.

Its not that old of a string. It is the string that came with my samick sage. I cant really afford to buy a string. So does keeping alot of wax on the string help?

i found a new string I had from who knows where ANd it fits my bow perfect. It doesnt have serving at the ends where the loops are. What kind of string does that mean it is and should it stretch abunch like the other one? thanks

I can attest to one of Ol Man's (Doug) bowstring not stretching very much. He pre-stretches them for you.

I know loyalty plays somewhat of a role when it comes to you guys buying things, but if you give worldsbeststrings.com a shot, you will be 100% satisfied. Alan will take good care of you. The best string and cables I've ever had and I've had plenty. Custom strings and cables, put them on, shoot about 50 shots and you may have to put in one twist after that and you're done. Had my dad and best friend order a set and we are all very pleased. Awesome product.

                      jathomas437...

This is the traditional section... worldsbeststrings no doubt makes a great compound string but, they won't work for us.

Sorry guys, just noticed this was a traditional bow you were talking about. How do you delete a post?

So do you guys think this string will eventually stop stretching?
