    Missed my first attempt

I missed a doe Tuesday morning. Shot right over her back. That's the only shot I have taken so far.

Had a shot at a really nice young 8 point (about 13" wide with good mass and approx, 10" G2's and G3's) and a much smaller 8 point (also close to 13" but with very short tines) Wed AM, but let them both walk becasue I felt they were too young and too small. The neck on the smaller buck was swollen up so much it made him look totally out of porportion to the rest of his body.

Rut is just kicking in as best I can tell.

We hunt about 45 miles Northeast of San Angelo just west of Ballinger.

Both the bucks that I mentioned above came into the feeder at different times and both left chasing does with their nose to the ground and the larger of the two chased his doe for several minutes before she finally put it in road gear and he gave up.

Hang in there Wayne, you will be tagging them in no time! I saw smaller bucks chasing a doe this past weekend.
