Would anybody in or near the san antonio area have some gold tips 35/55 cut to 30" that I could try out of my longbow? I cannot afford to buy any right now looking to try them and see how they fly. i currently shoot heritage 250's cut at 30". tail wag too much seem a bit stiff even with 100 grain brass inserts and 160 grain heads. 5" shield cut feathers. I shoot a Massie longbow 55@28" I probably draw 52@27 though. The charts say Hertiage 250's not 150's but I sure wish I had gone with 150's.

    thanks before hand

I could spare a couple...just got to get em to you. They are uncut but I am pretty sure GT's come 30". Also, they are XT's and not the Trads...not quite as heavy. Just let me know. I am shooting these out of a 49#@28" Ancient Spirits Sequoia and a 45#@28" Bear recurve....fly great.

Have you played around with the tips and nocks to change how it flies? Joe

        Yeah Joe,
I do not want to have to get heavier tips with 100 grain brass inserts and 160 grain heads. Would love to shoot just 160 grain heads without the inserts. I need to play with the nock a bit but really not tail kicking up0 and down tains more side to side. Duck'n if I have to take you up on that offer because their is noone in or around San Antonio i will pay shipping both ways to me and back to you. I appreciate the offer.
        Blessings

Try tuning with the field point selection from 3rivers, and bare shaft tune it will suprise you when you do that.
BTW I live in Boerne and have a selection of arrows but no Gold Tips to try, PM me if you are interested

            Jesse,
I have been trying to find a good fit for my longbow as well. I'm shooting a Bear Montana at 55# and 28". I have some Heritage 150's and 350's cut at 31" right now. I am down to only one 250 (also at 31"). Where in San Antonio are you? Maybe we can get together to shoot and you can try what I have.

I am between the bow shop and Mesquite Creek in the I10 410 interchange. Saturdays afternoons are usually best. My 250's are cut at 30" but 150's at 31 would be good to try.

Duckin I will let you know. thanks

Jesse, give me a buzz when you can. Four2, I would like to meet up with you and Jesse to try your carbons as well. I shoot 31" aluminums and have been wanting to switch to carbons, but don't want to buy the wrong weight. Maybe we can meet at The Bow Shop sometime soon.

                  Thanks!

I've got some 31" 2117's my brother gave me. I'll bring those as well for comparison.

Just wanted to say a great big thanks to Four2 as he really opened my eyes and even saved my family money as I tried out the different arrows. I thought I needed to go down in spine but my bow showed me it wanted to go up. I thought 150's but 350's flew through paper like a hot knife through butter.

Now I just need to sell my 250's or trade for 350"s any takers?

Preston and myself talked and stated how interesting and fun it was to get together and learn from each other a few things. We also stated that it would be great of we could get a bunch of guys together and shoot around a bit or trade arrows or hunting stories. Would anybody be interested in the San Antonio area?
