Ben Pearson Colt 960 60" Recurve

My grandmother had this bow in her garage and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it? It seems to be in good shape but needs a string. The only markings were Ben Pearson Colt 960 60". Thanks for any help or info. Would it use a 56" string?

If the limbs are in good shape it should be fine for a non-FF string. I'd think that 56" would be about right. I've had a couple of old Ben Pearson recurves that were fine shooters

Older bows weren't designed for fast flight strings.
Get a string made from B50 or B55

i currently shoot a '69 pearson gamester that i found at canton for $5.... after cleaning it up a little bit i put a new string on it and a flipper rest because of the flat shelf. you can get a couple of strings for it for less then $20 shipped from 3riversarchery.com.

If you go to an archery shop to get a string, ask for a recurve 60" string. It will actually measure out to about 56 inches, however you need to specify that it is for a 60" bow. Wow, hope I didn't confuse you with this.

Yes. What TradDoc said. I presumed that you knew that. Sorry. Say 60"AMO".

Thanks for the help guys. I'm a compound shooter but I thought it looked like a fun bow to play with. I don't know what the poundage on it is but it seems pretty low.

get a string for it and start shootin it, even if you dont plan to hunt with it the FSF's we do are mighty fun.
