    Headed over the hill!!

Going elk hunting tomorrow AM. Meeting my dad and a friend from San Antonio in camp and will be chasing elk in the mountains for a couple days. Will be playing the game with my recurve for the first couple days, then I may switch to wheels (gasp) to chase mulies in the high alpine for a couple days. Hope all have a safe and fun weekend! Will be taking a break for a couple days towards the end of next week to gain some points with the office and wife (not in that order). Wish us luck!! Word is the elk are talkin already.

            Txnrog,
Will be heading out in the morning also. Been out quite a bit and 'yes' they are beginning to talk some. Would help if the weather would cool down just a little, but the next week or so looks warm. Good luck to you and let us know how you do!

Well, back in the office after a long weekend hunt, one thing is for sure about plans, they change! Had to fly one member of our group back to Tx after he started showing signs of pulminary endema (acute altitude sickness - fluid in the lungs, not just headaches). That has all plans in a bit of a cluster. Thinking of going back out for a weekend trip this holiday weekend, then doing a 5 day solo backpack hunt the following weekend. We'll see how it all plays out.

Elk were talking, but not a ton - mostly cows chirping and the occasional bugle. Moon was so bright you could shoot (with trad) well before legal light. Waning moon this weekend and new moon next may be influencing my plans a bit.

Sorry to hear about your buddy, Rager. I hope all is OK with him. You keep after it and post up the LDP's when you put him on the ground.

                          Good Luck,

                          Bisch
