This is just like asking about differences in bows. It always comes down to "What is comfortable for you". As long as "you" are comfortable with it, you will be just fine.

Hey Double Drop,
since you're asking, it sounds to me like you are not happy with the consistentcy of your shots. If you find a string grip that feels comfortable but you are still not shooting good groups, it could be the quality of your release. Just a thought. What really helped me was anchoring my thumb under my chin and makking sure my finger touched my lip before I released. I then try to loose the string without letting my hand move; just the fingers. This helps keep me from "plucking" the string, whih was my biggest problem with consistentcy a few years ago.
Hope that helps.

Yes, there is a difference. I am happy to explain the history between the English Longbow grip and the Apache grip. I would invite you out to Texins Archery Club for some fun. We do have an Intro to Archery seminar each Saturday 10 to 11:30 for the novice, and personal instruction by appointment.
The bottom line on grip is what comfortably allows you the best view/alignment to aim and be consistent. Every face is different, therefore alignment and anchor are different. Our Form Wall Range is designed to allow people to experiment with their equipment.
Contact me if you would like to come out and visit as my guest.
