    Back from Chester

I got back home from Chester just a little while ago. I can't say enough good things about the shoots that Bill and his people put on. I had an excellent time with old friends, seeing familiar faces, meeting new people, I bought a new-to-me longbow, and I shot the best that I've ever shot! About the only thing that would've made the trip better would have been being able to buy one of Bob's longbows. The only targets that i missed on my second round were those pesky moving targets!
I don't recall having any problems with them last year.

It wasn't bad at all today. They have had some rain there over the last couple days, but not so much as to make for a muddy course. It rained for a couple minutes today...nothing bad at all under the canopy of trees. The humidity was a different story...we had PLENTY of that!

As usual a great shoot. It is always a good course and superior people on the trail.
          Can't beat it.

Thanks for posting up guys, I couldn't make it and was wandering how it went. I was concerned for all thinking you were getting bad weather out that way. Maybe next year will be better for me and I can make it!

Had a blast shooting with some new freinds. This shoot was hard on me , as far as scoring well but a GREAT COURSE. Got to shoot a couple of rounds with Rick(widdler)and James Hicks as well as Bisch. Met several other TBHers on the course and around the camps. Thanks to everyone at the shoot for all the Hard work setting this and running it. The best part was NO RAIN during the shoot although it looked pretty bad on radar Fri. night we really didn't get much.

just rolled in myself from Chester, What a event! It was nice to put faces with the names and meet everyone. ended up running into the guys that turned me on to the whole traditional gig and got to fling arrows with them, the last time i saw the Steins was probably 2002. I dont think i have ever truly wore myself out shooting but this was the place to do it. I ended up doing some trading and got me a nice Horne recurve, walked over to Wyatt's table picked up some woodys and shot my first round with wood and blew out my scores with my everyday gear...

already trying to shift things around so i can make the longbow and recurve championships

Longbow Championship is a good one. You will enjoy it. We would love for you to make the Recurve Championship too. Our range is awesome in the summer and we will have a Great course. Like Sherwood we shoot in full canopy and lots of shade. I hope you can make both.

What kind of scores did it take to win this year?

I can't remember exactly but 350's or so is what it took. Youth recurve was won by piittowinit with a 362. I shot not so good but as always had a blast. I shot 5 rounds wich means 10 shots at moving targets. I faired prety well; 9 out of 10 (missed the skeeter on my last round).

skeeter gave me fits this year!! Was good seeing everyone and making new friends and putting faces with greenscreen handles. Looking forward to next year already, and thinking of rainit rained last year on sunday morning so it appears rains the thing every year.
Congrats to Gene! Placed first in every class he shot and was down with Strep!

Just to echo all the good things about the shoot at Chester. Bill and crew put on a great event. I really enjoyed the shoot and loved the self bow I got from Arvin. That is fun stick to sling em with. Look forward to seeing everyone at the longbow shoot here in Fort Worth.

Ditto to this being a great shoot as always. Gene, you are my IDOL! You looked like you were on your death bed and still shot like that.....unbelievable.
The course was great, the people were great, and the raffle treated me well this year.
