    I know its early but....

Cowtown Bowmen will be hosting the Recurve Championship on June 26-27 2010. This year you will be able to shoot both classes for an overall award. You can win buckle in only one class but combine scores for the overall. There will be an overall for men and women. We will also have the jackpot round again. Longbows shooters can shoot for fun or enter a Longbow jackpot. We will be shooting 40 targets IBO scoring (center 11-10-8-5-0) Mark your calendars and spread the word

Thanks, Gene, and it's NOT too early to mention it, IMHO. We'll be there if at all possible - Cowtown does a great job with all its shoots. I happen to HATE my recurve at present, so maybe I'll just shoot a "fun shoot" with my longbow, lol. If you haven't already, you should post this on the 3-D shoot forum, too.

For the Qverall award one of your rounds MUST BE WOODS and that class is shot off the shelf only.To compete for Overall it will have to be your FIRST 2 ROUNDS scores . I will post a flyer soon with all rules and formats.I will also get buckle pics up as soon as we get them.

This was a really good shoot last last year. Great setup and great people.

Man I want to make this one. Gonna do my best to make it this year.

If I can find some woodies that will shoot, I might shoot both classes.

Thanks, Todd (and Gene). Last year (I think?) one of the rules was to have at least three shooters in a group in order to turn in scores. Same for this year, I presume (unless I'm misrembering)? We got to shoot with an aspiring trad shooter friend of our son's, and Mark, the Botanist Guy who kept me out of the poison ivy last year and I just loved that guy - saw him at Vanderpool, too

EDITED: Sorry, Todd, it was at y'alls WINTER TRAD SHOOT this year that you had the "at least three people in a group" rule....my bad! In another thread, there was some discussion about the Vanderpool rule about this is why I asked.

I will allow your footed woodies if you have to shoot them

We require minimum of 3 in group and double scoring. Our cards also only have a space for the score to be written in. (no circling or X-ing in the wrong column)This helps eliminate a score being marked in the wrong spot.

So are the groups assigned or how does that work. I will most likely be makin the trip on my own.

Hey Todd.. I know you said only off the shelf with the woods. But, will I be able to use a flipper rest for the open round?

Groups are not assigned. Sometimes they are premeditated among the group (personally I've never had much success with that one). Sometimes they are usual-and-customary (groups of friends that always shoot together). Plenty are spur of the moment.

Just show up, smile, look cute, make eye contact with a group headed for the start of the course, and ask if you can join (I find this one works better if you have a cute blond with you). That's usually how it works.
