Hi guys I havent been on in a while. I have been shooting a compound bow at 72lbs 26 1/2 draw length for about 6 years. I have a Hoyt pro hunter recurve bow that I would like to start hunting with its says it 58 inches long and 28 inch draw length and 48 lbs. My problems is that I am lost when it comes to this style of shooting. I dont have much luck shooting with out a sight and I cant hold the bow back verry long to get the whole ideal of shooting with out a sight. any sugestions are webb sites to look at, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got serious this year. I could not hit much starting out either. Start close to target. As you practice your hand eye cordination will take over. It also took me a good while to find a good anchor point. You will move that around some till you find one that works for you. I really don't aim per say, with a lot of practice you will soon just be able to focuse on the spot and let it loose and you will get close. I have gotten a lot of advice on this thread and feel confident I am going to harvest a deer this year with my trad. gear.
T the top of the pg there are post on getting started, read them and then just scroll down and open all the threads that people have ask for help before you, I know there are a lot of my threads on there where i got advice.

JTHED, I do not know where Trenton is but my suggestion would be to get with some local trad guys in your area to help you out. This trad game can be overwhelming at first but with the help of experienced shooters you can narrow the learning curve as well as learn proper form. In my opinion, proper form and release are the two most important things for new trad archers. You can go buy a $1000.00 bow but if your form and/or release are bad you will never shoot it good.
