    where I hold the string

Well guy's, I am new to this thing but determined to get it good. Over the past three months I have been shooting and shooting some more. I have tried many diffrent techniques. I have pretty much settled on this one.
I hold the string about 2.5 inches under the nock. This allowes the arrow to rest up around my eye and mt middle fingure in the corner of my mouth.
I have to say that I am shooting my best doing this. Does anyone else shoot like this or am I just weird? I still think the nock is getting back to around 28-29 inches so I do not think I am loosing much speed

im interested in this.... i have always shot one over, i started that way. i would imagine that this would cause an unbalanced string slap to the back of the limbs possibly noise, vibration, or shock? i would also think that a bow would have to be tillered for that extreme of a difference. well who knows because some people string walk but i dont know if they walk that much as ive never tried

    interesting

It is a little noisy but ai also have not put any silencers on yet. After I do that I'll report.
Do you think I can damage the bow shooting like this?

When I hold it 1 over or 3 under I just cant get anywhere near good groups. I am also a big guy and feel like I am not getting it back to 28 inches(draw length on bow)

No damage will happen....years ago there was a class in Field Archery called "barebow" and thats the same way these folks shot, the difference they would "walk" the string, (or have their fingers at a different place on the string below the nock) as you are doing for each yardage that we shot and each time the point of the arrow would be at the center bulls eye of the target....

It aint weird if it works for you. If you go to 3D shoots some have rules about a finger touching the nock.

The noise you are hearing is the limbs being out of balance in the dynamic position. When they return to the static position they do not do it at the same time. String walkers have been doing this for years but they are changing the distance between finger and nock to be able to maintain the same point on aiming point. That is why most tournaments will not allow this type of hold. You might try pulling your index finger up against the arrow and experiment with a higher anchor point. Get up on your cheeck and find a place that you can return to each time. This will allow you to gun barrel the arrow just like you are doing now. Your bow will get much quiter. You may find you need to raise your nocking point slightly to bring the limbs back into tiller. jmo
