Your drawing arm elbow is just a touch low putting your self out of alignment slightly. I personally think your bow arm shoulder is too high. With it that high the pressure is not true to the shoulder joint. I have known people that shoot great with a high shoulder like that but they usually have shoulder and elbow problems later on.If you lower the shoulder your elbow will bend slightly and rotate as Chris said. Alignment is the most critical part of shooting a bow and you have good alignment in form but not in your joints. Changing your form to put your joints in alignment will keep you shooting good till your as old as Ol Man.

It's OK redneck, I'm older then he is. That and he's got a great sense of humor.

And please don't think I was being overly critical. When I teach people to shoot the only part of shooting I really harp on is the alignment issue. Open stance, close stance, 3 under, 1 over, low anchor or high, really doesn't matter, but alignment is every thing. Every thing else can be your own style but you have to have good alignment. The Ol Man is a good one to look at. He has a very relaxed, easy going style of shooting. It's because his alignment is so good that he is not in a strain. Also look at Chris' avatar. He looks relaxed, alignment is perfect, as if he could hold it for minutes. That is what you should try to look like, aligned. So lower your shoulder a bit, rotate the bow arm, raise your head and align your drawing arm straight. Then you will be perfect.

...take it for what it is worth since I have no experience...the thing I noticed with both you and Ryan is neither of you were anchoring in the same place every time. Toward the end, your form started looking better and you were making an effort to anchor before the shot. You started shooting much better towards the end.

Like I said..no experience... and need some folks to critique my form as well. I don't think I have any pics though.

BTW--I'm almost recovered from looking for yours and Ryan's arrows. All but the 15 foot above the target one.

I'm glad you came out and brought Ryan, Brent. It was a lot of fun to have that many trad shooters.

On a side note...you may try taking your flip flops off; it seems to work for your brother. He shot with his flips flops on at this shoot...I don't think the Indians forgave him.

              Hi Brandon!

Thanks Dena. I can't take credit for Ryan. That was Brandon's doing. I just met him about 10 min before we did our practice round!

Draco- I am at the point I will take any help I can get. The more critical you are on me now, the better I will be later. Thanks for the comments.

I shot again last night and changed my anchor to using my middle finger in the corner of my mouth and fletching on my nose and I seemed to be more comfortable and shot alittle better.

Thanks for the help guys (and gal)!!!

I think it's the baseball glove that helped her out!!!

I really cannot comment on the glove part, but really thought that it was the arm guard protecting the outside of the arm myself in the first couple of pics. Bob
