    gaining confidence

Well, I just got home from Nocked and Loaded in Lampasas with a new string, and arrows. I took some of the advice I had recieved in an earlier thread and it has worked out pretty well. shooting for the first time in 9 months today I was able to get groups of 8 arrows inside a 4" circle @ 15 yds. I am excited to be getting them this tight this early in my practice.

Just remember to duplicate what it is you are doing and make it the same each and every shot. Consistent shooting is far better than a great day of shooting then the next few times are bad...

After shooting so good the other day I went out tonight and it was not good to start with. Then I realised that I was not being consistant with my knock point. Once I figured out where i was the other day it came alive. Still not as good as the other day( that day must have been a fluke) but still comming along. I just know I will harvest something this year with my recurve. I even got on my roof and at 15 yds I wa better than I was on the ground. I think the angle helps some. But I'll see tomorrow if that holds true

Kirby, just keep it up. Do the same thing every time. Over and over again. It will come. The consistency end is what counts. Repetition, concentration on doing it the same every time. Same grip, same anchor, same release and keep you eye on the spot. The spot rules. Stare a hole in the spot, repeat the moves exactly and the arrow will go where you look.
