One of the best ! Use the Barnes LRX or NP in 180+ gr and you’ll flat out smoke him! Shot placement is still critical. Vitals are way forward on them.

I would consider 300wm a good caliber for them

I've killed two nilgai with a .308 using 180gr soft points and they did wonderful, I imagine 300WM is more than efficient.

Brother killed one not long ago with a 300 Win Mag shooting 165 Nosler Accubonds

Just curious if the 7mm mag shooting a Federal Premium 165gr Nosler Partition would hold up?

I love my .35 Whelen. Developed a load for 200 grain at 2850 FPS and is MOA in my CVA single shot.

You’re good. I bring my Falkor and just keep shooting until they drop.

Nothing on the north American continent that won't drop on it's butt when you break the spine right up between the shoulder blades. 300WM does that all day as long as you shoot good bullets that stay together. I sure wouldn't be slinging Hornady SST's at the them Barnes or Noslers would be my choice. Way back yonder Hornady made some heavy interlock bullets that performed well in .30 cal and up but the new match grade stuff is for paper and varmints. Hogs are varmints too.

Not much can take a 180 grain bullet from a 300 win mag
