It just plain crazy what some of these folks think. I really don't think it will pass (I really hope it doesn't). But there's always a chance. Some folks will throw anything out there to use as a negotiating tool in other areas. Or just really don't have any knowledge. Maybe a little of both.

A congresscritter out of Arizona introduced similar legislation years ago, Raul Grijalva as I recall. It went about as far as this will, meaning it’s dead before it even goes to a vote.

And yes, it’s incredibly stupid and shortsighted.
