    QR Rings for .375

So I bought a Post 64 M70 .375 on an impulse and decided to put a Vx-3 2.5-8x36 for a future buffalo hunt. I mounted the scope with Leupold 2 piece QR bases. Finally go the the range yesterday, bore sighted it fired one painful shot, made adjustments and bam 1/2" low down the middle. Moved to 100 and fired. 4" low, 4" left. Moved it right but ran out of adjustment moving it up. I've never had that happen before and have no idea how to proceed. I'm not finding much in the innerweb so I'm asking the green screen. I'm not opposed to new rings and bases but really like the idea of QR rings just in case I have to rip off the scope and shoot a buffalo to save my life.

Wondering if the bases are different heights now and I may have installed them in the wrong order.

I have had a lot of experience with that mounting set up and have never run into that at all.

You may need to back up and punt. Try a different mounting option. There are other QR type set ups available. Toss a different scope in there first and see what happens...

I'm wondering if maybe the scope is messed up. I bought it new and don't think so but this is weird. i did email Leupold. Will see what they suggest.

Found this on the Leupold site. Planning to call in a bit.

"Running out of Elevation Up or Down: Leupold Technical Service offers purpose-built mounting shims for vertical alignment in either direction which we will ship within the US free of charge. Please call 1-800-LEUPOLD to order."
