    A question for reloaders

I used to reload a lot but been outta the game for quite a few years. Got my garage and workbench all sorted out now and ready to get started again. Got a bunch of 9mm cases ready to go now but when I went to start My Frankford vibrator , It wouldn't work. Worked fine about 15 yrs ago when I last used it. Who'da thunk it? It wouldn't work!
Lots'a innovation since then. Stainless pins. All the videos I've watched say they are the cats meow, The cure for all your ills. Are they all that good?
Wet tumbling? I was in Harbor freight the other day and they had one for a fairly decent price and for use with the SS pins, are they really better than the old vibrator and walnut/ corncob stuff? I was never REALLY satisfied with them but they were the cat's meow then.

I think it(ss pins, soap, and lemi shine) cleans them a lot better and makes look like new.
however, there's a lot more steps involved.

Been using the same vibrating tumbler I bought from Midway 30 years ago and using various medias. Dump brass in at night and go to bed. Check it next morning and shiny as can be.

I've got a 40 year old rock tumbler and i use dry crushed walnut shells. Brass comes out clean. I buy the walnut shell at the feed store in a big bag. A lot cheaper that way. One of these days I might try pins.

Wet tumble with SS pins sure makes them shine, however the vibratory tumbler is a lot less steps and quite a bit faster! I use both just depends on how clean I want them to look as t witch one I do.

My RCBS vibratory tumbler broke so I replaced it with a Frankford Arsenal Platinum rotary tumbler. The stainless pins and Hornady cleaning solution make are a game changer compared to the vibratory one I had. I bought a cheap food dehydrator from Academy to dry the brass. More steps involved compared to the vibratory but well worth it in my opinion.

I’ve used the media shaker types for quite a while, usually about 2-3 hours will really shine them up.

For those that have the SS pin tumbler can you recommend a setup that you really like

Nothing will CLEAN the brass including inside and primer pockets like the SS pin tumbler.

Dry media will polish but not clean as well.

                Both of them have downsides.

SS pins get packed inside the cases, they have to be dried and generally take a bit longer.

Dry media doesn’t clean the primer pockets, gets stuck in the flash hole and leaves a dusty film on the cases that can be abrasive to the inside of your dies.
