I’m not sure about that one. Makes a Glock look like a beauty queen.

And I’m not very particular about how guns look usually.

I think it looks pretty cool myself. It'll be interesting to see how it shoots.

I wouldn’t mind getting one in hand.

based on what i've seen , very similar to an alien for a third of the price ... and less complicated ... we'll see either way , i got one of the serialized special edition so it will probably be worth what i paid for it regardless ... apparently it was a hit at shot show based on the people who actually handled it and shot it , so i hope it was a good investment regardless

              well .. she's here!

Very interesting to say the least ...

trigger scaled exactly at 3lb with a little take up.

it feels good , but breaking it down is a pita!

time will tell how it performs ...

only con i can see is no manual safety .. once you rack it , the only safety is the trigger safety and firing pin safety... probably would bother some... i'm ok with it.

no particularly fond of the red dot , no auto brightness, just manual and it doesn't go low enough for my taste . it does go to sleep after a few minutes and turns off after 4 hours of no motion. definitely bright enough for outdoor use.

the fit and finish feels like STI.. slide rack is butter and loading a round is effortless , it's having to bounce off the feed ramp hard to chamber like some guns do which is good and hopefully will lead to good reliability.

overall it's a nice machine , way nicer than any other RIA they make.

kinda cool to have one of the first 50 ever made ...

more after i take to the range!

It’s like a Desert Eagle and Tangfolio Witness had a baby.

well .. the verdict is in , i just couldn't wait to go to the ranch to test this out, so i went to a local gun range . first time in oh.... 10 years !

sighted it in and shot 3 boxes of ammo. (not a single stoppage..100%)
at first it shot 2 distinct groups ... some went 2 inches left for some reason.. then by the second box it quit doing that and started shooting hole into hole ...
(barrel break in ? foul in?? )

all shooting was done at 21 feet to minimize human error ... we were indoors and they shoot rifles and full auto's in the same bay .. i got lucky to get some guy doing mag dumps and double taps at 7 yards with a 308 rifle with massive brake .. the pressure alone was rattling my teeth ..

anyhow , this is not a rant about the gun range ..

the pistol shoots flat, really flat ! the trigger is a little spongy but nothing you can't get used to , it's just different .

i put a 5 spot target up and was able to make the centers disappear pretty easy

it shoots well ! some people may not think it's worth the price for what it does ... it's sort of a niche pistol ... i like it ..
My only gripe is i could not get more than 15 rounds in the mags .. i didn't bring my maglula ... and my thumb just couldn't get it done it's that stiff ...

here is my final 15 rounds on paper .. i put a 1" pasty in the middle of the paper at 7 yards and pulled the trigger as fast as i could see the dot intersect

The pasty didn't survive the encounter.. it was gone when i brought in the paper.. i was just shooting at the hole after a few rounds . the lines are an inch apart , so i'm calling this group about an inch and a half pretty good really for "semi" rapid fire.. i wasn't shooting as fast as it can go , nor slow , just as a fast as the dot would naturally fall back to center.... i'm happy with that.

                    Looks good.

The 1911 Tac Ultra HC 45 auto I got from RIA did the same at 7 yds. 2 mag dump chewed out one big hole standing 2 handed grip. Since then I have adjusted the sight for dead center.
I'm very fond of my RIA pistols. Most accurate and consistent 45's I have ever shot or owned.

How is the balance now that the sight is added on top? Pics of a naked 5.0 sure make them look front heavy.

it's alright .. the frame is aluminum .. so it's not heavy.. feels about the same as my TSO.
i've been working on a kydex holster all weekend .. had it made at texas gun experience ... terrible experience ... when i got it home from them, I put it on a belt and the gun wouldn't even come out..
i won't go into details , but i basically reshaped it , recut it , and now refiguring out a mounting bracket for my safariland qls.

prototype is on the 3d printer so it will take all night ...
