Going to start a new superlight hunting rifle build, who makes the the lightest stock for a proof sendero barrel? I’ve heard Proof makes them under 20oz’s but can’t find any for sale. What about the Peak44? Anyone use these stocks for a build? If so how do you like them?

I edited my post, looks like Proof isn’t selling just their stocks anymore. They used to and when I was looking to build an ultralight rifle they were the lightest ones I found.

Back in the day, 80’s and 90’s, Brown Precision offered a raw Kevlar stock that was called the “pounder” , weight was around 15 ounces. 4-5 more ounces were added after bedding and paint. Every blue moon you can find one for sale but it’s very rare.
Bansner made similar stocks in the 90’s as RR 314 mentioned. MPI was another company building lightweight stocks but they were very inconsistent and had poor QC. If wanting to save ounces, blind magazine ADL is the way to go.

Took just under two months for me to get it in after placing the order. That’s the time I was quoted. Stock will need to be bedded
With a Vx5hd Leupold 56mm scope gun weight is exactly 8 pounds and shoots lights out, light and looks amazing.

If you aren't put off by the barrel dimension constraints, the Manners Ultra Classic is about as light as it gets. I just weighed one at 19 oz. You can get a little lighter overall build if you are going for a fly weight by using an appropriate steel blank vs. a proof.Last edited by Stick1; 12-28-2022, 04:03 PM.
