    San Antonio Gunsmith Rec

I know this is a bow community, but I wanted to ask if anyone can recommend a gunsmith in San Antonio. I am looking to have a scope mounted on a new rifle and have a barrel threaded on a second rifle. Thanks in advance.

Agreed. I have not personally used Apache but have heard good things about them.

Been to Apache and wouldn’t use them. There is also Nagel’s inside 410.

If you’re will to drive to comfort to Apache, there is also the vias muzzle brake shop that does gunsmithing between Castroville and Hondo.

Tip Burns has a shop here at Canyon Lake and does good work with a fast turn around. Two or three days normally if I take him a gun to bed or thread. He’s been doing it a long time and does all the work himself unlike some of the shops that send it out to get threaded.

Ron Bartlett (my cousin) who owns Vias is having health issues, dementia. I do not think he is still open. Sad situation cause he’s been at it a long time and always did good work.

Jeff’s on Dezavala. He could have charged me 3-400 dollars for some work I wanted done. He told me “ let me see what I can do before we do that “. Got it perfect. 20 bucks.

That’s a shame and sorry to hear that about your family with a terrible terrible disease to suffer from. He made the best muzzle breaks on the market.

I had heard a while back that Ron had got sick and closed. He done three rifles for me.

Dury’s was sending Vais most of the rifle brake work . David Dury told me they contracted out some work to other places as well.

Op, Tip Burns can do the work you need and it won’t break the bank
