    Long range help..

So I got a gun that’s plenty capable to shoot out a ways now ( got it in a trade)

It’s a 6.5 CM that’s was built to for reaching out. It is what it is and it’s what I got so it’s what I’m working with. What scope in the $700-$1200 price range is the best bang for the buck now days , and what range finder ( been looking at the Sig Kilo that’s like $1800 )

Have been looking at stuff and have an idea just wanted a fresh perspective from TBH..

I would try and bump up your price a tad and get a Nightforce NXS. It's about $1,800.

A Sig Kilo 5k is a great range finder

I’ll second the NXS, have 3 of them and they are great! 5.5-22 is a good unit.

Also not going to be getting deep into target shooting , will get it shot in and then it will be for shooting hogs and coyotes.

Leupold is still hard to beat for the price. The VX5HD is a really good scope IMO.

Doesn’t sound like you will be too serious about and burning a bunch of rounds at steel so the VX5HD is hard to beat for the money.

NXS is a great scope if you plan to dial a lot and want something bombproof but that comes at a price of weight at almost 2 pounds.

Vx5HD is about 10 oz lighter

              Sierracharlie out....

Huskemaw blue diamond. 1500 and they will build you a turret. I have a few nightforces and Huskemaws, the huskemaw is as good, it's lighter and the reticle is not as busy.

Purpose-built for the competitive shooter, the Match Pro is the best budget or beginner first focal plane scope for the long range shooter. Shop online today!

This one intrigues me. First focal plane at that price seems like it’s worth a shot.

Leupold MK5 if you can find in classifieds.
                    Bushnell XRS also good
Not a fan of the NXS after using better stuff.

For long range, save your money for good repeatable scopes in quality rings.

The Leupold VX scopes are great for glass and such but not really meant to be dialed a lot.

Whatever you do don’t pay retail or anywhere even remotely close for a Nighforce NXS. They were a great scope……. When Lincoln was still in office. horrible reticle options, meh glass, and overpriced. They’re durable and they track true, but that’s about the only good things I have to say about them.

For $1200 I’d keep an eye out for a Gen II Razor 3-18 or 4.5-27. Better glass than an NXS by a long shot, better reticles, and twice as heavy lol that last one isn’t actually a pro. They’re as solid as an NXS though.

MK5 is what I’d be looking for though, and can be hd for $1200 if you’re really patient and search constantly. However Id bump my budget a little to easily find one for $1400-1500. It’s a better optic than anything else in the price range IMO.
