Looking for 10mm load data for a carbine, or T/C Contender. I just realized this morning, I need to get the latest Lyman loading manual, the one I have is from the mid 80s, probably printed in the mid 70s, because it does not have any 10mm load data. What I like about the Lyman manuals, is they will list load data for pistol calibers for auto loaders, revolvers, T/C Contenders and possibly even carbines. So calibers like 9mm an 45 ACP may have load data in 3 sections, if not 4. But my Lyman manual is too old. I have two newer manuals that have a lot of 10mm load data, but only for auto loader handguns.
I have 3 different 180 gr. hollow points I plan on loading, then eventually casting and loading some 180 gr. and 200 gr. bullets.
In the manuals I have, I have found load data for Autocomp, I bought that for my wife's and daughter's 380s. Prefer not to use that, but I can get more, or should be able to. Then I have some Longshot, I used to have a can of AA7 for my 10mm, but I guess I finally used it up, I can't find it.
I looked at pressures of both Autocomp and Longshot, the max loads for Autocomp, are around 36,000 psi, as where the max Longshot loads are around 34,400 psi. Then it looks like Longshot is a noticeably slower burning powder. So everything I am seeing, says I should be using Longshot in my 10mm carbine. The only data I have is for autoloader handguns, I guess I can slowly add powder, till the primers start to flatten out.
If you have any 10mm carbine load data or loading experience, I would be interested in seeing data or any advice. Thanks.
