Sizing Die Question
Originally posted by PVDT View PostWell I had to look that up to even answer the question. I didn’t even know that was “a thing”. Short answer is no I don’t but will be ordering one soon. I did know about the titanium nitride bushings that makes sizing easier but I couldn’t find it in .281 when I was ordering mine.
I ask because they can cause stretch in the case when pulling back through.
I use a bushing die with no expander and then use an expander mandrel to set the final neck diameter.
This is what I am talking about by expander button. I don’t know if any resizing does that don’t have them.

LE Wilson dies don’t have an expander, only a decapping rod. But I believe they’re the only ones who do that

Use the separate expanding mandrel if you need to bring necks up after sizing with the appropriate bushing size first to eliminate run out.
Preaching to the choir boss man, center rod in any die gets pitched in the trash before the first use[emoji23] just saying that Wilson’s only come with decapping rods and don’t have expander balls at all

How many times have the cases been fired and reloaded?
You said: “Some of them were definitely harder than they should’ve been to size.” This could also be from work hardening of the brass.
I hope this helps!
Any particular DIY cheap setup that you can share. Just started reloading myself and something I’ll have to do at some point.
