I think the only ones made in the states are the Pros. Even the TRP and similar come from Brazil and are finished here. At least that’s how it used to be. May have changed

      Nice looking gun.
Double stack, 9mm 1911s have been around for around 30 years. Not sure why they are not more common. We used to have a Caspian 1911 in 9mm back in the early to mid 90s, was built on a Para Ordnance double stack frame. That was a nice shooting gun.

Springfield 1911s have been made in the US since about 2014.

If you check the Brownells website for the prodigy it list them as made on the USA in the specs section.

Bul uses proprietary mags and the springfield use sti style mags, so there's that.

          Nice. Had no idea.

The mag compatibility is great and reports that these new mags are going to retail for around $30 is great (if true).

Having the Agency AOS cut is a great value too.

I was goofing off on the springfield site yesterday and they had the mags running for $60. I guess if I'm going to pay $1700 for a pistol I can spring a couple hundred for some mags.

Handled one last night. Heavier than I expected. The one I played with had a very heavy trigger, which surprised me. Slide was very light and easy to rack which makes me wonder if it was sprung correctly…time will tell on that. Over all fit and finish was meh. At the price point, I do think it will get more folks into the 2011 platform, which is a good thing.

A little bit, the one I looked at was pretty nice. I did not shoot it just fondle it at the gun store. I don't love the front strap checkering, but that's just me. I think if it had 20 LPI front strap checkering it would be just about perfect for a production 1911

If it’s anything like the rest of their guns it will be a hard pass for me.

                        What do you recommend, M16?

Loved my XD, and love my XDM-E even more. I like the hellcat, as it’s easy to conceal at work everyday and still holds plenty of rounds. I look forward to getting my hands on a prodigy. Going to sell a couple of pistols I never shoot so my wife doesn’t use one of them on me when I get this one.

It looks like staccato doesn’t make a 45 model.

.45s are so yesterday. 9mm and 10mm are where it’s at.
