3 foot 2X4 and keep a cheap set of cornhole bags that have sand in them in our stand. Our stands are built out of wood. I install an extra 2x4 inside stand frame just below window frame and wedge 3 foot 2x4 between window frame. works great.

We set up a bog death grip in the stand for my daughter and it works good. Holds the rifle with the barrel already out the window.
